FLEET managers who have outsourced their accident management should demand to see cheaper insurance premiums as a result or consider moving suppliers.

Paul Rose, managing director of Russell Vehicle Management and a former chief executive of Fleet Management Group, argues fleet managers must demand action amid rocketing insurance costs that could make some fleets with poor accident records 'uninsurable'.

'Fleet managers are under immense pressure, with rising insurance premiums and they should be asking serious questions about the service they are receiving from accident management suppliers,' said Rose.

'They should demand a proactive service that cuts their premiums and if insurance costs are rising, fleet managers should ask what benefits their supplier is actually bringing. 'If they are not happy, fleets must be prepared to look elsewhere.'
