VAUXHALL has won British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association supermini and lower medium security awards for the second year in succession, taking its tally to eight BVRLA volume car awards in the 13 years they have been run. BMW was also a consecutive winner in the luxury/executive category, while Saab scored a first in the 2000 awards by taking the upper medium security title.

Mercedes-Benz did the double by repeating its 1999 success to win the light commercial and heavy goods vehicle sectors. The association's environment award, introduced last year, was again won by Volvo.
