VOLKSWAGEN has been busy clinching deals in the LCV market. The AA has acquired 260 new Transporter vans in its bid to provide a single source completion, where one repair vehicle attends the customer and is able to complete the work without having to call in help.

The 2.5TDI 102bhp models come with integral recovery winch. Meanwhile, five new LT35 vans have been chosen by Renfrewshire Council for use in its social services and building trades departments. They will be used for the meals on wheels service among other tasks and were ordered through Verve Volkswagen Van Centre of Glasgow.

And South Ayrshire Council is taking delivery of 13 new 17-seat LT46s powered by the 2.5 TDI engine. The buses have chassis-mounted secure points for wheelchairs and a rear hydraulic lift.
