A TRIAL with one of Britain's biggest ambulance fleets is expected to net the first of a series of 'blue light' supply orders for Renault. Seven examples of the French company's trendsetting Scenic compact MPV have brought 'positive' feedback from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, national fleet sales manager Nick Tame reported at Fleet Show 2000.

'We have every reason to believe that the trial has opened the door on a new deal with the authority. When it happens, we hope it will be the first of several new arrangements between Renault and the blue light services - we're keen to have our cars in this important fleet sector,' said Tame. On long-term loan with the service, the 1.9 turbodiesel Scenics are in use as quick-response paramedic transport.
