FLEETS are being reminded that Road Safety Week 2000 begins on Monday, May 1. More than 1,500 companies are planning events as part of the week, which is organised by road safety organisation Brake.

Mary Williams OBE, Brake executive director, said: 'Bosses have an enormous responsibility to ensure their staff and members of the community at large are safe when on the roads. It is great so many companies are taking road safety seriously and getting involved.' Brake was pleased with the response from companies despite the fact that just 1,500 of 75,000 targeted responded.
