THE potential value of internet buying has been demonstrated by Totalise Eurekar which, in two weeks of offering European-sourced cars, claims to have taken £7 million in orders on 400 cars. Chief executive Peter Gregory said: 'The average UK dealer sells two cars a day. On that basis we will have sold more than a year's quota in just four weeks.'

It now has its eyes on the corporate market. A spokesman said: 'As long as we have the end user's passport details we can register the vehicle's documents with the company name.' Totalise is offering cars like a Saab 9-3 2.0T S Cabriolet at £6,780 less than the UK retail price and a Renault Megane 1.6 16v Monaco Cabriolet at £4,947 less.

Prices include VAT, one-year pan-European warranty, 12 months' tax and three years Green Flag 'Total Protection' roadside recovery.
