VAUXHALL'S new VX220 roadster will cost £22,995 on-the-road when it enters UK showrooms in November.

To handle sales of the two-seater - the first 'pure sports car' in Vauxhall's 98-year history - a specialist network of 50 dealers is being established to provide sales and service support, although all Vauxhall dealers will be able to provide information. The VX220 is being produced from a new factory on the Lotus site in Norfolk. A total of 3,000 cars a year will built - 1,000 for the UK market - between September and 2003.
