Volvo compact sports saloon to make UK debut at motor show

A VOLVO S60 compact sports saloon sitting between S40 and S80 models is to make its UK debut at the Birmingham International Motor Show on October 18. Aligned to compete with BMW 3-series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-class and Lexus IS200, prices will start from £20,650 for the entry level 180bhp 2.0T S and rise to £26,550 for the flagship 250bhp T5 SE.

Fleets will be able to test drive and order S60s from October for delivery early in the New Year. All engines are five-cylinder petrol units and prices for a mid-range 200bhp 2.4-litre light-pressure turbo model are to be announced closer to the Motor Show. Stability traction control, dual-stage airbags for driver and passenger, SIPS and SIPS airbags, WHIPS whiplash protection, inflatable curtains and five three-point seat belts will be fitted as standard to all models.
