DRUG and drink driving and tiredness are among the topics being brought up in the Fit to Drive? conference, organised by the road safety organisation Brake. The conference will feature a number of presentations to explain latest research findings on the risks posed by drivers in a poor mental or physical state.

Brake's executive director Mary Williams said: 'Fleet managers often overlook these risks and few know of the potential problems. However they can implement good risk management practices to minimise the risk of their drivers causing crashes due to impairment. A little time and effort can help companies to save money by reducing their crash costs.'

Fit to Drive? Takes place at Crowthorne, Berkshire and is priced at £141 for Road Risk Forum members or £229.13 for non-members. For more information contact Brake on 01484 559909.
