Subaru Outback goes three-litre

SUBARU'S UK range-topping Outback is to be offered with a 3.0-litre 207bhp six-cylinder 'boxer' engine towards the end of the year.

Likely to be priced from about £28,000 on-the-road, the new permanent four-wheel-drive model, to be badged H6 3.0, has a 0-62mph sprint time of 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 130mph. The current range-topping power unit, the 154bhp 2.5-litre four-cylinder, will remain an option in Outback.
