Revised VW Golf and Bora V5s

REVISED V5 versions of the Volkswagen Golf and Bora are now on sale, with a 20bhp power boost, improved economy and lower emissions. The extra power comes from multi-valve technology - the five-cylinder unit now has four valves per cylinder - giving the engine better performance higher up the rev range.

CO2 emissions are down from 226 and 228 g/km on the Golf and Bora respectively to 209 on both models. The Golf V5 is now available as a three-door, while the engine has been dropped from the estate, being replaced by a 1.8T version. Prices for the Golf V5 start at £17,230 for the three-door, with the Bora V5 priced at £18,000.
