Euro car pool bid to cut congestion

A EUROPEAN digital business consultancy is targeting large companies, municipal authorities and rental and leasing firms with a new car pool scheme, writes sister magazine Fleet News Europe.

Halogen and DriveIT have developed the technology behind the scheme and are actively promoting it in Sweden and the UK, while Scandinavian fuel and daily rental giant Statoil is piloting the car pool initiative. Halogen and DriveIT say the scheme will cut vehicle congestion, pointing to German research which shows an average car spends 94% of its life parked.
