SENIOR fleet decision-makers can take the first steps towards a 'get out of jail card' at this year's Fleet News Congress.

Richard Dykes, chairman of the Work-related Road Safety Task Group, will be a key speaker at the event and will reveal the group's views on fleet safety.

The Fleet News Congress will be the first opportunity for fleets to get a face-to-face briefing on the future of fleet safety since the group completed its investigation into methods of cutting accidents.

The task group has produced a report for Government on the best way to slash fleet accident rates, with a key recommendation of extending rules on health and safety at work to cover company cars and vans.

If the recommendations are accepted by Government, fleets would have to completely reassess their approach to safety to avoid the risk of directors being sent to jail, so early advice on how they should react is vital.

Tickets cost £225 (+ VAT) for a full day ticket, or £130 (+VAT) for the morning session, and £95 (+ VAT) for the afternoon.
