FLEET News and Ford want to hear your views on the new company car tax system in the largest research project. yet undertaken into the new benefit-in-kind tax regime that comes into force in April 2002.

In a link-up with this website, Fleet News is questioning fleet decision makers while Ford is quizzing company car drivers via its Talkback magazine for views on key issues related to the tax changes.

Hopes are high that more than 20,000 fleet decision-makers and company car drivers will take part in the project. with the findings revealed at this year's Fleet News Congress, which will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at the Inter-Continental Hotel, Hyde Park Corner, London.

The chairman of the influential Work-related Road Safety Task Group, Richard Dykes, will reveal how safety legislation will be brought to bear on company cars and vans at this year's UK Congress.

The task group is currently finalising a report to Government putting forward recommendations that could change the way fleets operate as part of a bid to slash fleet accidents rates.

Dykes is one of a long list of top-level speakers taking part in the event, to be held at the Hotel Inter-Continental, Hyde Park in London, including Liberal Democrat peer and member of the Government-backed Motorists' Forum Baroness Ros Scott.
