A LEADING college of further education has unveiled a new centre of excellence for automobile engineering students. Motherwell College's new Autotronic Centre has been created to ensure industry focused students gain the electronic technology skills required to enter the modern workplace.

Jack McConnell, minister for education and Motherwell and Wishaw MSP, opened the centre. The centre contains a reception area, parts department, lecture room, electronics laboratory and practical workshop. Partners in the initiative include Volkswagen, Reg Vardy, the John Martin Group and Mitsubishi.
