Self-drive fleet installs 'big brother'

FLEETSTAR Information Services has been installed to Raffles' self-drive hire and chauffeur limousines' 200-vehicle fleet across the UK.

The move follows the news that fleets have backed tracking systems as a key to better fleet management, with Hampshire police agreeing to pilot Fleetstar to help track and monitor eight of their vehicles in the New Forest area.

The Fleetstar technology helps fleets keep accurate delivery and pick-up times, and the in-car realtime traffic information helps drivers steer clear of congestion. 'It helps keep big brother on the case,' said Aziz Tejpar, Raffles' managing director. Raffles' fleet is made up of VW Beetles, BMW Z3s, BMW 3- and 5-series, Porsche Boxsters, Ferrari 360s and Mercedes-Benz S, E and M-classes.
