SAVE Group in administration

BRITAIN'S largest independent petrol retailer, Save Group, has gone into administration. The group, which complained in January that despite high fuel prices, most of its revenue went to the Government in tax, blamed unreasonable interest rates from banks.

James Frost resigned as chairman and chief executive with immediate effect, but the firm's 400 sites are still open, according to staff. A spokesman for joint administrator Ernst & Young said: 'We hope to sell the business as a going concern.'
