US move boosts Honda's Swindon plant

HONDA'S Swindon plant will build three-door Civics for the North American market, with around 15,000 Civic Si hatchbacks going to the US and Canada annually from next year.

The decision follows an announcement in October to dual-source the Honda CR-V for North America from Japan and the UK from next year, and to export the three-door Civic from the UK to Japan.
