LEASING companies will increasingly use outsourcing of basic customer services so they can concentrate on meeting core customers' demands, a Leasing Life conference, in association with the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association heard. Peter Cooke, head of the centre for Automotive Industries Management at Nottingham Trent University, told delegates: 'Outsourcing provision of the base services means the leasing company can build a unique, tailored service package in addition to basic services.

'Outsourcing provides the opportunity to cut costs through greater efficiencies, enhanced flexibility, known costs of providing a service, and it gives smaller players access to state of the art systems and better purchasing power.'
