PEUGEOT has announced prices for the new 307, which will reach UK showrooms in June. The car replaces the 306 and will be available with three petrol engines and one diesel engine from launch.

Five different models will be offered - Style, Rapier, LX, GLX and XSi - with a choice of seven interior and five 'ambiences' with a total of 79 different combinations of interior finish including colour co-ordinated dashboards. A 1.4-litre 70bhp HDi turbodiesel and a 2.0-litre 110bhp turbodiesel will join the range in late summer. An entry-level three-door 1.4 Style costs £10,860 on-the-road, compared with £10,460 for an entry-level three-door Focus 1.4 CL, while a five-door 307 1.4 LX with air conditioning retails at £12,260, compared with a Honda Civic 1.4 S at £11,960.
