FAST-FIT company MotorWay Tyre and Autocentres has announced a number of major new contracts with high-profile fleets. MotorWay and sister company Tyreservices have increased their share of a contract to provide maintenance for Securicor and its fleet of more than 12,000 vehicles.

The contract is worth about £3 million and covers 75% of Securicor's tyre spend. Parcel carrier UPS has also confirmed its retention of MotorWay to look after its fleet of 1,000 vehicles for a further 12 months in a deal worth £800,000.

MotorWay's ambition is 'to become the country's leading fleet service provider,' and says its Fleet Management System (FMS) has been instrumental in securing two leasing service contracts - with LeasePlan and ACL autolease - for a combined total of around 180,000 vehicles.

FMS offers management for fleets whereby drivers can book tyres, exhaust and battery changes via a one-call service. Lloyds TSB autolease has awarded MotorWay the additional contract of the Lloyds TSB fleet -valued at £500,000 - following the merger of ACL with Black Horse Vehicle Management.

MotorWay has also won contracts with Manchester City Council, worth £300,000, and Salford Van Hire, which has a fleet of 3,000 vehicles and a tyre spend of £1.75 million. Other new customers include J Smillie, Cannon Transport, Roadferry, Churngold, WRM and Tufnell.
