Fuel price protest slash causes mile-long queues

IN a show of unity with motorists, oil company Murco illustrated how much cash goes to the Chancellor of the Exchequer by cutting out duty and VAT for a day at one of its 400 stations.

The move slashed petrol prices from 79ppl (359ppg) to 21.5ppl (97.7ppg), causing queues of more than a mile.
