Inchcape turns to AA in bid to improve residuals

INCHCAPE has called in outside experts to inspect vehicles at its Burton on Trent remarketing centre in an attempt to improve residual values on its ex-lease cars.

AA Business Services has won the contract to inspect Inchcape's 8,000 end-of-lease vehicles before they head for sale via the internet. The firm has brought the AA in to ensure that cars meet quality standards or to recommend work to reach those levels.

AA Business Services already carries out inspection work for Inchcape UK retail and the firm's internet retailing arm, Autobytel. At least one AA employee will be based full-time at Burton on Trent, with more brought in depending on work levels.
