FLEETS can expect to do business with a new-look Mercedes-Benz sales network from spring next year after dealers ended their dispute with DaimlerChrysler over plans to restructure its UK sales network. The restructuring will go ahead and dealers affected by termination of the Mercedes franchise are likely to be compensated. The settlement was thrashed out as the case was due to go to court. Dermot Kelly, director of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, said: 'Preparations for the new format have already begun and we are working to build the structure over the next two years with the first of the new dealerships opening in spring 2002. Until then DaimlerChrysler UK will work closely with its dealers to ensure our customers continue to receive the first class service and care expected of the world's number one luxury marque.'
