The Danish company Only Fair (part of the American group FCE) which controls the Fleet Logistics network of specialist consultants, has bought French firm Roland Consultants.

Roland Consultants had already been a voluntary partner in the Fleet Logistics network for two years, and turned over FF3.5 million last year as a vehicle fleet consultant.

Roland Consultants was created in 1992 by Bernard Roland, a former Peat Marwick consultant. He set up Europcar Lease in France in 1987 before launching his own specialist fleet consultancy.

Roland Consultants has about 100 customers from the public and private sectors in France. Fleet Logistics has operations in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and Spain, and is looking to buy the independent partners in its network. It has also bought the Swedish consultancy Ynnor.

Its ambition is to extend its network in the countries where it is not yet represented in Europe (such as Italy) and on other continents in order to create an integrated global network that will be able to respond better to the demands of large international companies. (July/August 2001)
