Civics recalled

HONDA has recalled 8,000 of its 2001 year model Civic five-door models because of problems with the brake and clutch pedals. The faults, which caused 'excessive' brake and clutch pedal travel, are not expected to arise under 'normal' driving conditions, but have occurred twice before in the UK. Between 10,000 and 12,000 Civics have been sold in the UK.

Drivers are advised to contact their local dealership to arrange a free inspection.
