CITROEN is providing defensive driver training to a chartered building company as part of a deal to supply the company with 15 new vans. George & Harding has taken delivery of 12 Citroen Berlingos and three Citroen Relays to add to its fleet of 40 Citroen vans.

The vehicles were supplied by Citroen commercial vehicle specialist Penton in Bournemouth and replace the company's fleet of Ford Escort and Transit vans. Staff carrying tools and equipment to construction sites will use the vehicles, which have been purchased outright.

As part of the deal, driver training will be provided by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. He added that the company had been working to create a 'safety' culture. This means that drivers are encouraged to take pride in driving safely and receiving training certificates.
