CHRYSLER expects to attract a bigger slice of the fleet user-chooser market with the launch of its diesel-powered PT Cruiser.

It estimates that the Mercedes-Benz 2.2-litre diesel will account for 25% of PT Cruiser sales after its launch in the spring.

Chrysler Jeep UK director Simon Elliott, said: 'It is good for us to be able to offer this car as the diesel market grows in the UK.

'Although we are not looking for massive volume sales of the diesel we expect it will fetch up to 25% of total PT Cruiser sales.'
