FIAT has had a regional aid grant of €24 million for its Rivalta plant near Turin blocked by the European Commission. The factory builds the Fiat Bravo/Brava and Marea, Lancia Nuovo Dedra and Alfa Romeo 166. The EC ruled that Fiat had decided to invest in the Rivalta plant before the region became an assisted area, and that Italy failed to give sufficient evidence of the mobility of the project.
