MG Rover could be offering its customers up to 965bhp with its new sportscar unveiled at the motor show this week.

The MG XPower SV (pictured) has carbon fibre body panels and a special aerodynamic package to aid stability. The standard car will be powered by a 326bhp 4.6-litre V8 engine. It is expected to reach 0-62mph in five seconds with a top speed of 170mph. The Club Sport car will use a more powerful 5.0-litre V8, developing 410bhp. Its 0-62mph sprint is expected to be cut to 4.4 seconds with a top speed limited to 195mph. Prices for the range will start at £65,000 in the UK.
