New car figures

MANUFACTURERS pre-registered 175 cars during August worth just over £2 million, figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders reveal.

Toyota had the most, with 65, while Ford pre-registered 49 and Vauxhall 26. Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz had 11 each. The Supply of New Cars Order 2000 requires manufacturers to publish the number of pre-registered cars.
