BANK of Scotland's Vehicle Management Division has secured a deal to provide 35 vehicles to Hamilton-based Homebuy Direct.

The electrical goods rental company is part of Value Rental Group that has made a series of acquisitions and conducted an inventory of its own company fleet. Operations director Gary Jackson said: 'We inherited a fragmented fleet of vehicles. Some of the cars have been purchased outright, while many of the vans have been used on a contract hire basis, and others on an ad hoc basis. Not only was this an inefficient way to operate the business, but it was also very costly. We decided to tackle the issue by investing in a new fleet for Homebuy Direct, comprising of Ford Transit vans, estate cars and Citroen Picassos that we could lease over three years.'

Bank of Scotland Vehicle Management director of customer relationships Robert Lane added: 'We are pleased to provide a brand new fleet of vehicles to Homebuy Direct. Our business banking division already has a relationship with Value Rentals Group, so it was only natural they turned to our vehicle management division for advice.'
