A SHORTAGE of good clean used van stock means prices are holding 'exceptionally well' in all sectors this month, claims pricing expert Plex Publishing.

Condition remains a determining factor, with the price gap continuing to widen between well-looked-after stock and vehicles that are poorly presented.

Plex Publishing commercial vehicle editor Mick Bennett said 'Luxury pick-ups continue their phenomenal progress, with traders virtually throwing money at the most desirable examples and values for the most sought-after models have actually risen this month. Mitsubishi still retains the crown in the double cab sector but the new Nissan Navara could be a worthy contender in the future.

'Light panel vans in acceptable condition are also in great demand, with clean low mileage Scudo and Nissan Cargo exceeding Plex trade values, and Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert equally popular if presented well.

'However, December is often the month of bargains as the festive mood filters through to the trade in the latter half of the month and the auction ring tends to shrink, so there should be some good buys to be had even amongst the more desirable stock.'
