NATIONAL Car Rental has secured deals worth millions of pounds with RAC-owned companies.

Leasing firm Lex Vehicle Leasing, jointly owned by RAC and HBOS Group, has appointed National Car Rental as the main supplier of its daily rental cars in a three-year deal. As part of the deal, the rental company will provide Lex's customers with replacement vehicles and will work closely with the company to market daily rental products to its client base. Lex Vehicle Leasing will continue to use Sixt Kenning for light commercial vehicles.

Neil McCrossan, National Car Rental's vice-president, sales and marketing, said: 'Lex Vehicle Leasing is one of the largest and most innovative leasing companies in the country. Winning the contract is a testament to the high quality service we offer our customers, complemented by our e-business solutions, advanced system capabilities and market leading products.

'Our relationship with Lex vehicle Leasing also complements our renewed contract with long-term customer, RAC.'

The RAC's deal to have National Car Rental as its preferred car rental service provider in a three-year deal is worth about £15 million.

National has been supplier of daily rental services to RAC for more than eight years, providing its services to the RAC's members as well as supporting its fleet and manufacturer programmes.

RAC Group operations contract manager Nigel Tuffey added: 'National recognises that businesses such as ours required tailored solutions. It is this capability, utilising leading edge technology that has helped National win this new contract. We are delighted to continue working with National and to further what has been a long and successful partnership.'
