Ford Pro is introducing a package of benefits for commercial vehicle operators that are designed to make switching to electric vans much simpler.

The Ford Power Promise includes charging solutions, warranty and servicing.

Building on Ford Pro’s home charging offer launched in 2024, the package provides a discounted home charger costing just £10, or an £825 contribution towards a charging installation at a commercial premises; free five-year service and roadside assistance plan; eight-year high-voltage battery warranty; 12-month free vehicle management software and access to Ford’s expansive BlueOval Charge Network (BOCN) – all included with the vehicle.

Customers who do not have the ability to install a home charger and don’t need depot charging will receive a £500 discount on any eligible vehicle purchase.

“Switching to an electric van does not need to feel like a step into the unknown,” said Mandy Dean, commercial vehicle director, Ford of Britain and Ireland.

“Ford is committed to helping businesses big and small understand the benefits that our new generation of connected electric vans can deliver.

“Now, our Ford Pro Power Promise goes even further, with no-nonsense solutions that will boost confidence for businesses on the fence, and make the transition to electric seamless and stress-free, so they can concentrate on getting the job done.”

Electric vans could save small businesses in the UK almost £12,000 per vehicle over three years, mainly through reduced energy and maintenance costs, according to a recent report commissioned by Ford Pro and published by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).

Despite the potential savings, the report also found many businesses are lacking the confidence to make the switch. Charging times (38.1% of respondents), availability of public charging (29.1%) and the cost of installing charging infrastructure (28.4%) ranked high on the list of concerns.

Available with the Ford E-Transit, E-Transit Custom and E-Transit Courier, the Ford Pro Power Promise provides:

  • The option of a £10 home charge point with standard installation and a five-year hardware warranty, or an £825 discount on a workplace charging solution
  • Twelve months of complimentary access to Ford Pro vehicle management software
  • An eight-year, 100,000-mile high voltage component and battery warranty for peace of mind
  • A five-year service plan to reassure businesses with low maintenance costs
