• AVIS Fleet Services, a subsidiary company of General Electric Company (GE), has appointed Wolfgang König as regional general manager for central Europe.
    In this position, he is responsible for the further development for the fleet leasing business of GE Capital Fleet Services in Germany and Switzerland.
    König joined Avis Fleet Services in Neu-Isenburg in October 1999. As remarketing manager, he was mainly responsible for the marketing of leasing returns. In March 2001, he was given the position of managing the 'customer relation' department.
    With his appointment as regional general manager König is responsible for the continuing growth of the company and the expansion of its service portfolio.
    Before joining Avis Fleet Services, he was the director responsible for the German business of a worldwide fleet vehicle marketing specialist.

     

  • NISSAN has appointed Denis Berthu as vice-president, communications, for Nissan Europe.
    As a member of the management committee he will be in charge of corporate communications policy as well as internal and product communications.
    He joins the company from Groupe Lafarge, where he was communications director. Berthu replaces Akinari Okabe who held the position of general manager, communications, for Nissan Europe. Okabe has returned to Nissan in Japan as deputy general manager of communications.

     

  • SAAB has appointed Lars Hellberg as quality manager. He becomes head of the customer satisfaction and quality department, with duties that cover the whole Saab organisation.
    He joins Saab from Volvo, where he headed the business and volume optimisation department. 'He has wide international experience and has worked for a number of automotive companies in Europe,' Saab said. (October 2001)
