May 2000: GENERAL Motors introduced leading-edge wireless technology to fleet managers at the 2000 National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) convention in the US. The technology provides real-time vehicle order status and tracking information via a wireless handheld device. Dave Hansen, general manager, GM Fleet and Commercial Operations, said: 'Our fleet customers can interface with GM-Fleetworld from the palm of their hand, any time they want.'
