THE Home Office has been forced to defend comments made by minister John Denham when he appeared to say that the Government's policy was 'not to catch speeding motorists'.

Lord Berkeley asked Minister of State for the Home Office Lord Rooker whether the Government intended to enforce speed limits, but Rooker said Denham's comments had not been fully reported and the full statement read: 'Our aim is not to catch speeding motorists but to reduce injuries and crashes at known accident hotspots.'
