FORD has unveiled first pictures of the all new 'baby' Transit, to be called Transit Connect. It was revealed this week at the Amsterdam Commercial Vehicle Show. See next week's van feature in Fleet News for full details of the new model. To subscribe call 01858 435363.
The new model (pictured), to be launched in the autumn, is based on a new platform and has been purpose-designed as a small van. It is intended to reflect the benefits of the Transit in a smaller package and will come in a short wheelbase version, aimed at the light commercial vehicle market and a long wheelbase high-roof model designed for the sub-one-tonne sector.
The short wheelbase version will achieve a class first by handling two Euro pallets.
