MG ROVER and BCA launched the new range of the Z-car saloons on to the used market with a special closed sale at Longbridge.

More than 100 cars were offered and every car sold generating a turnover of £1.4million. BCA used a direct-feed video link to show the auction at MG Rover Group's conference centre, with live images of the cars broadcast on a giant screen.

The average price claimed of MG ZR, ZS and ZTs was 77.42% of current list price, with 2001 51 registration cars achieving 80% of current list. Simon Wheeler, MG Rover director of company vehicles, said: 'This is a significant result that reflects the already strong performance of the MG saloons in the new car market.'
