VODAFONE is offering its 9,000 staff a new personal leasing service through a deal with vehicle management specialist Fleetlease.

Fleetlease will provide staff with access to new, imported and used vehicles through its sister company Fleetlease Direct. Vodafone employees can either purchase vehicles outright, or use hire purchase, or contract purchase to fund the vehicles.

Fleetlease has also developed a dedicated website to help answer drivers' questions about the new CO2-based company car tax system, which launched at the weekend.

Derek Steptoe, Vodafone group compensation and benefits director, said: 'With the company car not being as attractive as it used to be for some, personal leasing has emerged as an extremely valuable alternative. We wanted to add value to this proposition by rolling it out to all our UK employees.'

The firm is expecting that greatest interest will come from the company's 900 senior managers who currently have a company car, but may wish to opt out.
