MITSUBISHI is contacting owners of 41,000 Shoguns purchased between 1990 and 1999 after a series of steering failures.

The Pitman arm ball stud within the steering of the three and five-door petrol and diesel models can corrode and fail. Eleven failures have been reported in the UK, leading to two accidents with no injuries. The current range of Shoguns sold from 2000 onwards and the original range, sold from 1983 to 1989, is unaffected.
