ADT Fire and Security has awarded one of the largest vehicle asset management contracts signed in the UK to TRACKER Network.

The deal formalises an agreement to install the firm's hi-tech fleet management system, based on TRACKER Communicator, on 1,300 ADT field service vehicles. ADT Fire and Security, one of the UK's largest fire and security companies, decided in principle 12 months ago to install a vehicle asset management system and had assessed nine different systems before TRACKER was chosen. ADT provides electronic solutions to crime prevention and fire protection for a wide range of firms throughout the UK and Ireland.

It operates through 50 offices and has 4,300 vehicles.

Keith Marshall, service director at ADT, said: 'We are particularly keen to maintain our competitive edge and improve customer service and a vehicle location solution will help us to do this.'

TRACKER Communicator provides information including start and stop times, speed, distance and direction travelled and idling time.
