THREE more teams have qualified for the final of the Kwik-Fit Fleet National Karting Challenge, in association with Fleet News.

Ten teams and 50 drivers battled it out over an exciting two and a half hour endurance race in the West Midlands heat, where Carillion Fleet Management 1 eventually took the chequered flag ahead of Lloyds TSB autolease in second place.

Both now qualify for the final, while the other teams - Motability 1, Motability 2, Carillion Fleet Management 2, Hertz Lease, LloydsTSB Autolease, ALD Automotive, Overdrive, Key Fleets and Lombard Vehicle Management - will have to wait another year.

At Leicester's Stretton 2000 circuit, five teams - National Car Rental, Marshall Leasing, CLM, Inchcape Vehicle Contracts and DaimlerChrysler Services Fleet Management - vied for a place in the Grand Final to be held at the Daytona International Circuit in Milton Keynes on June 9. The 800-metre track provided plenty of action in the two and a half hour endurance format.

Ultimately it was a lap record from Ken Bagley of DaimlerChrysler Services Fleet Management which meant the Milton Keynes-based company took the chequered flag a nose cone ahead of Inchcape Vehicle Contracts. DCSFM now heads to its 'local' Daytona track for the final.
