FIAT has revised the Punto range, adding a new bottom of the range model, while adding specification and reducing prices on other models. The firm has also given names to cars that previously had letter designations and has made the pricing structure more logical.

The range now starts at £6,499 on the road with the Punto Mia. The Active replaces the Base model, Active Sport takes over from the Go special edition, the ELX is renamed Dynamic, while the HLX is now called Eleganza. Sporting, HGT and Abarth stay the same.

All versions except the Active now get improved sound systems and CD player, and foglights. The Active, at £7,575 on the road has body-coloured bumpers, tachometer, two extra speakers, trip computer and 'follow-me-home' headlights. Many models also get extra trim colour options.

To simplify pricing, all JTD diesel versions now cost £500 more than equivalent petrol cars, Speedgear costs £600 more than the manual, and five door versions are £550 more expensive than three door cars.
