Price gears up for safety

FLEET safety consultant Andy Price has been approved as a How's My Driving consultant, allowing him to implement the safety sticker scheme for fleets throughout the UK.

The How's My Driving scheme operates through badges asking for motorists to report on the driving style of vehicles sporting the sticker.

Costing from £9 per vehicle per year, the stickers can have an immediate effect on fleet safety, with one firm reporting a 67% reduction in accidents after a year of using them.

Price said: 'A typical fleet accident rate is up to 40% to 60% a year. Given that on average accidents cost approximately £1,000 to £1,200, it does not take a large reduction in a fleet's accident rate before real savings can be made.'
