SHELL Oil Refinery has launched a bid to reduce downtime on its 135-vehicle fleet by awarding a supply deal to Inchcape Vehicle Contracts. Inchcape will supply vehicles on contract hire for the Stanlow refinery and provide fixed cost maintenance using an approved agent at the Shell site.

Currently average downtimes are two to three days and a gradual increase in the length of time vehicles spent off the road encouraged Shell to look for a company to help it tackle the problem.
