• JOHN Thomson has joined Lexus GB as general manager, operations. Thomson spent nine years with Citroen UK as zone sales manager, fleet manager and network commercial manager and will now be primarily responsible for maintaining Lexus' customer care.

  • CYBIT has announced the appointment of Nigel Hammersley as national account manager. He will head up sales of the company's telematics solutions into the government and utilities markets. With over 20 years' experience of sales management, Hammersley joins CybIT from Nortel Networks and was previously with BT selling systems to police forces.

  • FOUR new executives have been appointed to Covisint's new office in Frankfurt. Dr Heinrich Eichenauer joins as executive sales director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Martin Thiele is now account director, Tiers Germany for Covisint. Philipp Popov and Dr Wolfgang Bernhart have both taken on roles to develop the relationship between Covisint and DaimlerChrysler. Covisint is an independent ebusiness exchange for the automotive industry, founded by DaimlerChrysler, Ford, GM, Nissan, Renault, Commerce One and Oracle.

  • ARVAL PHH Accident Management recently announced the appointment of Stephen Tripp as head of call centre. Tripp will lead the centre which operates a 24-hour, 365 days a year service to drivers and co-ordinates the UK-wide repairer network. His experience includes insurance claims contact centre manager for Zurich Financial Services and, previously, he spent nine years with RSA.

  • MOVING from one Yorkshire-based Mercedes-Benz retailer to another, Tony Mitchell has been appointed corporate sales manager at Nidd Vale Group's business in Harrogate. Mitchell has some 14 years experience in the motor retailing sector and will use his skills to further develop fleet sales throughout Nidd Vale's North Yorkshire market area.

  • JOHN Tordoff has been appointed to the new role of group chief executive with JCT 600. Tordoff was formerly general manager at JCT600's Brooklands dealership and will be taking over from his father, Jack Tordoff, who plans a less active role in the future. In 1996 John Tordoff was closely involved with the bringing together of JCT600's marques at Brooklands.

  • AFTER 22 years with Walon UK, Pat Carr is stepping down as general manager of the Hartlepool depot. Carr worked her way up from vehicle movement supervisor reaching the general manager position in 1986. Nigel Hughes, who has been Carr's deputy for 16 years, now takes over from her.
