• LARA Masters has become an ambassador for MAGIC, Ford's information service for mature drivers and those with disabilities.

    Television presenter Masters uses a wheelchair due to arterial venal malformation, a blood vessel disorder. She will be joined at MAGIC by Jason Richards, a UK wheelchair athlete.

  • The Metropolitan Police Authority has appointed Stuart Middleton as its new director of transport services.

    He leads a team of 220 people and has a departmental budget of £32m. Middleton comes from an Army background - he joined the services when he was 18 years of age and at one time he was its chief aircraft engineer.

  • Rob Hutchinson has been appointed national manager of Ford Rapid Fit. He succeeds Les Montgomery who retires after 36 years with Ford.

    Hutchinson joined Ford 16 years ago and has held a variety of posts, his most recent being technical services manager.

    He is currently completing a masters degree in automotive engineering.

  • VAUXHALL has elected Mark James to its board of directors and appointed him as director of finance. He was previously controller, sales marketing and customer care and prior to that director of special projects for General Motors in Zurich.

    James has also worked in finance management positions with Opel France and GM Turkey.

  • NICKY Websper has become London Taxis International's sales and marketing director.

    She has responsibility for brand development and marketing, sales planning and external and public affairs.

    Previously, Websper was marketing director with isero.com and her earlier career involved marketing for HPI, the vehicle information business and Equifax plc.

  • THALES Telematics, owner of the Orchid telematics brand, has made two appointments.

    Stephen Winyard takes on the role of UK sales director. He was previously a founding partner of Oneview.net Plc.

    Richard Cartland brings 20 years' experience in operational and technical roles to his position as operations director. Cartland previously worked for Telewest Broadband and General Cable.

  • ROGER Wookey and Steve Steeden have joined Bosal UK as area sales manager and quality engineer respectively.

    Wookey will cover the south of England for Bosal Storage Systems and was formerly with SSI Schaefer UK. Steeden previously spent 14 years with Arvinmeritor and later as a design engineer with Dacal Engineering.

  • SUZANNA Shepherd has been appointed general manager with risk management and driver training firm Driving Services.

    She joins the company with many years of experience in management, personnel and training in the banking and retail industries.
