FLEETS will get their first taste of the new Nissan Primera hatchback next week - the most important Primera for the UK market.

The five-door car was designed in the UK and will be built at the company's Sunderland plant for sale only in Europe.

Nissan says when the full range is available, 80% of Primeras sold in the UK will be hatchbacks. The launch of the hatchback also coincides with the first six-speed manual 2.0-litre petrol models.

Hatchback cars are priced at the same level as the saloons already on sale, ranging from £14,600 to £20,800 on-the-road, with new six-speed manual 2.0-litre models starting at £15,100.
